HOW I LOST MY WEIGHT SERIES

PART2-IMPORTANCE OF WATER IN LIFE

Hi everyone. I hope you are having a beautiful day. Now we are ready with part two of the series on how I lost my weight effectively. We are basically going to discuss the role of water, how much important it is, and whether we are drinking it right or not. Water is essential for our body, it is made up of 70 percent of the water content. So dehydration is the new main cause of unwanted weight gain.

WHEN DO YOU NEED TO DRINK WATER?

  1. When you are feeling hungry.
  2. As soon as you wake up.
  3. Before and after you work out.
  4. Before taking shower.
  5. Before you go to bed.
  6. In Winters, you might not feel thirsty, drink at the above mentioned time without any fail

WHEN NOT TO DRINK WATER?

  1. During meals.
  2. Immediately after meals/tea/coffee.

REASONS FOR THE ABOVE CLAIMS.

DRINKING WATER WHEN WE FEEL HUNGRY.

Because our body often mistakes hunger with thirst. Most often, you stop feeling hungry after having water. I did this big mistake, I used to eat whenever I felt hungry so that led to an enormous weight gain for me. I realized too late. So, next time when you feel hungry, first drink a glass of water and wait for few minutes, if the hunger does not subside, eat your nutritious food.

AS SOON AS YOU WAKE UP.

Drinking warm water first thing in the morning can facilitate smooth bowel movement. Drinking water first thing in the morning will satiate you and energize you, removing toxins from the body. Make sure that you drink warm water. Drink it like wine, sip by sip, slowly. Hold water in your mouth for few minutes, then drink, remember our primary school lessons? Digestion starts from the mouth.

Also, remember the first part of this series? If you have not read it, I highly recommend you to read it, that is about self-love. So, early in the morning give time to yourself, dedicate few minutes to drink water slowly, enjoying every sip.

Drink a glass of water now

BEFORE AND AFTER YOU WORK OUT.

Drinking water before a workout will again, energize and hydrate you. Wait for few minutes before starting a workout after you had your water. Drinking water after your workout will help you rehydrate and make up for the fluid loss in the form of sweating while exercising. To maintain fluid balance, drinking water before and after your workout can be helpful. You also won’t want to slam water before a workout in hopes of hydrating up — that will likely lead to uncomfortable sloshing and bloating as you move. Make sure you’re drinking water regularly in the days leading up to a workout, particularly those that are tough or sweaty. In fact, according to Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, you should focus on a hydration strategy starting the week before an endurance race, as a November 2019 study in Sports Medicine shows that going into it dehydrated even by a small amount can decrease performance. Also make sure that, once you are done with the workout, wait for few minutes then have water. Make sure to hydrate well after your workout is complete to replace what you’ve lost through sweat.

BEFORE TAKING SHOWER

Drinking one glass of water before taking a bath can help lower blood pressure. The water should be warm to promote dilation of your blood vessels, which causes blood pressure to drop. Plus, drinking water dilutes sodium levels in the body, which further aids in lowering blood pressure.

BEFORE SLEEPING

If you are fully hydrated before going to bed and sleeping, you can lower the risk of heart attack and stroke, as dehydration elevates the risk factors for cardiovascular disease. A heart attack occurs mostly in the morning because the blood is thicker due to loss of water. These are of the many good reasons to drink water at night in order to keep your body hydrated while you are sleeping.

HOW TO DRINK WATER?

Remember your high school lessons? Digestions start from your mouth. So, drink sip by sip.

  1. Always sit and drink water.
  2. Never drink cold water.
  3. Drink sip by sip.
  4. Always allow water to be in your mouth for few minutes.
  5. Never drink the whole bottle in one go.

These are very basic points that I wanted to share, though these might have been taught in our childhood, due to our busy lifestyle, we have stopped following, leading to many problems, you will be surprised to know that the lack of water can also affect our mood, and nobody wants to deal with a grumpy person. Also, remember the first part of this series? If you have not read it, I highly recommend you to read it, that is about self-love. So, early in the morning give time to yourself, dedicate few minutes to drink water slowly, enjoying every sip. Do follow these points and let me know about the kind of changes that you encountered, but I request , everything takes time, good things take time. Instant things never last long and instant things are harmful to our body. Please follow it for a month or two, continuously, without any fail. You are doing it for you, not for anybody, why don’t you put your best foot forward?
